Many people all over the world have inadequate access to clean drinking water and use whatever water sources are available to them including sources that are contaminated with diseases, pathogens, and unhealthy levels of chemicals or suspended solids. Using this water for drinking and food preperation has led to widespread illness and often death.

In an effort to assist in the reducation of the unhealthy practice of ingesting polluted water, Mountain Mist has partnered with Living Water International, a faith-based not for profit organization that helps communities in developing countries acquire safe drinking water by donating all supplies and labor associated with the drilling of new wells. Mountain Mist has donated thousands of dollars to this very good cause, the most recent venture being a new water well in a remote village in Peru. Update: April 2010

The Peru well drilling project funded by Mountain Mist is now complete! The people of the Candoshi village no longer get their drinking water from the same river their cows bathe in; they now have a well that pumps 40 liters of clean, healthy drinking water per minute to more than 300 people!
